We would like to remind faculty and staff that they can apply for grant funding through the UF Technology Fee in order to develop academic technology projects on campus.
The Technology Fee funds large and small projects involving essential instructional services such as infrastructure, systems, applications and support services. Technology Fee grant funding is determined through a competitive process overseen by an advisory committee comprised of students, faculty and administrators. Proposals from all students and employees are considered, but they must be sponsored by a core IT unit to ensure proper technical support and maintenance for the duration of the project.
Call for Submissions
The announcement for Technology Fee proposal submissions for each funding cycle occurs in December, so begin thinking about your grant proposal ideas now. Staff and faculty are encouraged to start investigating proposal ideas as early as possible. If you don’t have a particular project in mind today, we encourage you to make note of any ideas for improving instructional technology at UF that occur to you during the semester. CLAS members should contact our IT Project Manager (Brad Harwood) to discuss your idea(s) and see if it falls within the criteria for Technology Fee grant funding.
