Adding a Network Printer on Windows 11
Prior to adding a network printer, please ensure you have been given access to the specific printer. Printer access is provided by CLAS IT after department admins have submitted a request on behalf of the user. If you are unsure, please contact your department office manager.
This walkthrough is intended for users with appropriate printer access on a Windows 11 device that is not a CLAS-managed Windows desktop. CLAS-managed Windows 11 desktops automatically map printers and shared drives. If you are using a CLAS-managed Windows 11 desktop that is not mapping printing by default, submit a ticket to CLAS IT here.
Setup Process:
Launch the Start Menu by selecting the Windows icon in the taskbar. At the top of the menu, type Printers in the search bar. Windows will populate the Printers & Scanners system setting. Select it to open.


Select the blue Add device button.

Windows will populate printers visible on the UF network. Immediately scroll to the bottom of the list and look for the option Add a new device manually.

This should launch the Add Printer wizard. Select the radio button Select a shared printer by name.
