The usage of UFApps, the tool that allows faculty and students to use common software applications on any computing device, spiked in the Fall 2016 semester. This is great news because it is an indicator that faculty and students have found UFApps useful for homework, labs, and class sessions, but there have been some hiccups due to the increased demand.
In December, CLAS IT met with the UFApps team to discuss some of the issues encountered due to the growth. The UFApps team have expressed their commitment to providing a high-quality service for campus and want to provide the best possible experience for our faculty and students.
One request that the UFApps team has made is for any faculty member that plans to leverage UFApps for their course to please notify them by filling out the UFApps Course Usage form:
As of December 2016, there are over 50 application suites available in UFApps and they are available at no charge to faculty and staff for educational purposes. For more information, please visit the UFApps Help Request form.
