What is Siteimprove?

Siteimprove is a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform contracted by The University of Florida. Siteimprove scans the University of Florida’s web resources and creates useful metrics and reports that help identify areas of improvement. It scans web pages, documents, and media files and compiles reports that can be accessed via monthly emails or directly from Siteimprove.

Accessibility

Siteimprove offers a host of accessibility metrics that will help your site comply with the global Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 for compliance levels A, AA, and AAA. Some of the most common issues are using color to denote hyperlinks, insufficient contrast, and images missing alt text. We strongly advise that every website administrator in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences obtains access to accessibility reporting via our service request CLAS-IT form.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search Engine Optimization is the process by which we make our websites most visible in organic search results. Siteimprove tracks and reports a number of metrics on CLAS websites. Some common SEO issues are long web page URLS, mixed content issues, slow load speed, and low page word count. Improving your SEO score makes all the work you do on your website have a greater impact by reaching the most relevant audience in search engines.

Quality Assurance

Siteimprove provides reporting on content quality, misspellings, readability, content freshness, security, broken links, document usability, and image size(KB/MB). You can access this reporting by going to your site improve dashboard or requesting a monthly report be sent to your UFL email.
