We will be splitting up home drives Wednesday on Jun 27 from 8pm to 10pm. There will be a brief outage and users may need to restart on Thursday.
We will be splitting up the home drives to increase to total space available. Please save any documents and shut down or disconnect by 8pm. Machines left connected may lose data and will need to be restarted to reconnect to network drives after the maintenance is complete.
Most users will not see a difference and the current paths will continue to work. However, Mac users will need to change the path used to connect to shared drives.
New Home Drive Paths for Mac OS X
Mac OS 10.7 (Lion) can use the same paths as the Windows 7 machines. (Example: cifs://ad.ufl.edu/clas/home/a/agator).
After June 27th, users of Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and below should use home drive paths determined by the table below:
