Recommended Headsets for Webex

The operating environment and preferred configuration of a headset varies significantly from person to person. As such, we don’t want to say one specific headset configuration is universally better than another. However, we do have a few preferred headset manufacturers that we recommend:

There are a few things that you should take into consideration while purchasing a headset:

Wired / Wireless – Wired headsets provide consistent audio quality and don’t require charging, while wireless headsets offer greater mobility and flexibility around the office or home workspace.

Mono / Stereo – Mono headsets (one ear) allow awareness of your surroundings and are great for shared offices, while stereo headsets (two ears) provide fuller sound and better focus during calls or media playback.

On-Ear / Over-Ear / Ear Bud

  • On-ear headsets rest lightly on the ears and are typically lightweight, ideal for shorter or intermittent calls.
  • Over-ear headsets fully cover the ears, offering improved noise isolation and comfort during long meetings or all-day use.
  • Ear buds are compact and portable, offering a minimal profile while still supporting high-quality audio and built-in microphones.

Active Noise Cancelling (ANC)

Active Noise Cancelling technology uses built-in microphones to detect external sounds—such as conversations, HVAC noise, or office movement—and then generates an opposite sound signal to reduce that background noise. In noisier or cubicle-based work environments, ANC can help maintain focus, improve call clarity, and reduce listening fatigue by minimizing distractions. While ANC does not eliminate all sound, it significantly reduces low, constant noise and makes it easier to stay engaged during meetings or extended work sessions.

Note: Combined headsets are not required. If you currently use headphones or speakers for audio and your built-in webcam microphone for voice capture, you can continue using this setup without issue.
