A critical vulnerability that impacts all versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer is actively being exploited by malicious attackers. Microsoft has not yet released patch for this vulnerability.
The UF Information Security Office recommends that users avoid using Internet Explorer when possible until a patch is made available. Users should consider using an alternate web browser such as FireFox, Safari, or Chrome when use of Internet Explorer is not required.
The UF Information Security Office continuously monitors the UF network looking for threats such as these but we are asking users to maintain a vigilant eye and err on the side of caution when clicking links to unknown websites. Once Microsoft releases a patch, we will update this alert with the information needed to protect your systems from exposure to this threat.
